Kid-made dog biscuits for charity!
Only $5 for a 300g bag!
We are two kids aged 12 and 9 from Ottawa making dog biscuits to raise money for the Humane Society and other animal charities. Our goal for this project is to raise $100 for the humane society. We’re also seeing how a company actually works. Our dad is a brewer so we get half of our ingredients from him. Our cookies are made of beer grain but will not get you or your dog drunk.

how we make dog cookies

We make 2 kinds of cookies – pumpkin and peanut butter. We know some people have allergies so we do our best to keep things clean and seperated.

We start with leftover grain that our dad gives us after he brews beer. This means we are reusing stuff that would go into the green bin.

$1 from every 300g bag of cookies goes to help animal charities. Our goal is to donate $100 in 2020!

Our Cookie Recipe
We use a simple recipe that we found on the internet. We sometimes have to change the amounts to make the cookies easier to roll.
- 4 cups spent beer grain
- 2 cups white flour
- 2 eggs
- 2/3 cup peanut butter or pumpkin puree
Mix together, roll out and cut into shapes and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Decrease temperature to 225 degrees and leave cookies for 1 -2 hours to dry.
High fibre and Low Calorie
These are super high fibre. We thought of calling them pipe cleaners.
All natural ingredients
Healthy and wholesome treats with no preservatives. Totally fine for people to eat.
Helping animals
There are lots of animal charities in Ottawa and we want to do our part to help as many animals as we can.
